                CHAPTER-1-SG-Y-1-S-1-D-3

Eli and Ami jankowsky had overslept and were up a little later than they'd wanted to be that morning. They were having to start getting used to the idea that they actually owned their lot and could make plans for what they wanted to do with it.This was nothing like the reality they'd been dealing with before coming over as colonial settlers to live in Deery Meadows. They would never have had any hope of being landowners in Europe or in Russia and would always have to settle for being homeless or being workers on somebody else's land unless they rented lodgings in a city and worked in a factory or in a shop.
They ended up having to rush over to Garden House to get ready for the new day very quickly after sleeping in too late and running late getting out.It was late when they started using toilets and taking their showers to get ready for the day's work before they ate breakfast. They were trying to get the gardening done though it went very slowly because their skill was just too low to allow them to work very effectively in the gardens. It was beginning to become very clear to them that they'd have to sacrifice a day's work to study gardening skill more at the library on the computers or using their iPads.
Eli and Ami worked very hard harvesting some produce from the garden areas at Garden House though it didn't do them very much good because of their lack of gardening skill. They kept working until early in the afternoon and decided to call it quits shortly after noon. They cleaned up quickly and decided to spend some time studying gardening skill on their iPads to improve it enough to become more efficient at harvesting produce to sell for cash at the grocery store. They needed the money for buying building materials if they hoped to be able to start building a house.
It was starting to get later when they finally stopped studying because it was time to get cleaned up and eat dinner. It was lready 6PM and they needed to get ready for bed before 8PM because they wanted to stop the oversleeping and waking up late. They were finished at Garden House by 7PM and started heading back to their own lot to get it cleaned up and get themselves into their sleeping bags by 7:30.They ended up not getting to sleep until 8PM because they had to pick up the trash bin again after a raccoon knocked it down and left trash piles on the ground near the bin.
The town sent some work crews over to Garden House to see about fixing the placement of the chairs and the chess table so it would become usable for more than one resident at a time. That work ended up taking them a few hours to complete and they didn't leave until about 10PM.
